The January weather report!

Our crews work under lots of difficult conditions, but high wind (especially gusty wind) presents a challenge that cannot be overcome safely. We have had many more days than usual this year with sustained high winds, and the forecasts have often been either wrong or last minute. We build some slack into the schedule for this sort of thing but ther weather has been so changeable that it has taken all our slack and then some. So we have had to reschedule more than normal.

Another issue this year has been overnight freezing. When the temperature drops below freezing overnight, there often isn't enough time during the folloowing day for the material in the gutters to unfreeze. So we have had an unuausl number of days when we have had to either start late or have been unable to work even though the daytime temperature has been above freezing.

We are very thankful to our clients for understanding these problems and working through them with us. Katie in our office has been very busy and diligent inkeeping peole informed--communication is the key. .Hopefully the weather pattern will stabilize a little bit and we can get caught up.
